Welcome to the Jill and Marvin Willis Center for Writing!

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BEFORE MAKING AN APPOINTMENT

During the Spring 2024 semester, we are offering multiple appointment types in several locations:

In-person appointments are available from 9am until 5pm at the following locations:

  • Park Hall 66
  • Miller Learning Center 370*
  • Main Library 620a
  • McBay Science Library 201
  • GradsWrite Studio (Science Library)

*Appointments in the MLC may be temporarily relocated to room 369 due to ongoing renovations in the regular Willis Center space, room 370. Please check both rooms if you are unable to access the room number listed on your appointment confirmation email.

Online appointments are also available. When scheduling an online appointment, writers can choose to meet with a writing consultant in real time or to receive feedback via email:

  • Meet in real time: Log back into uga.mywconline.com five minutes before the start of your appointment. Click on your appointment block and select "START OR JOIN ONLINE CONVERSATION" to open the video chat.
  • Feedback via email: Upload your work to your appointment form at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment. You do not need to be available during your appointment time. A consultant will send written feedback via email.

We have both online and in-person appointments available to graduate students through our GradsWrite Studio schedule. While graduate students may schedule an appointment on any active schedule, GradsWrite Studio is only for graduate students. In-person appointments for GradsWrite Studio take place in Science Library 402

Available appointments are indicated by blank boxes on our schedules. When scheduling an appointment, make note of the location and time you have chosen!

You can choose a schedule using the radio buttons below your login on this page. If you do not see an appointment that works with your schedule, you can try a different schedule, too! You can switch schedules using the drop-down menu at the top of each screen once you login

Important policies:

  • Appointments can be scheduled up to two weeks in advance
  • Writers are invited to make up to two appointments each week (two appointments total across all appointment types and schedules)
  • After two no-shows, student accounts will be suspended. If this happens to you, please email writingcenter@uga.edu for more information
  • Please be patient, respectful, and kind in your dealings with Writing Center consultants. Failure to do so may result in suspension of Writing Center privileges
